The Captiva is a beautiful, bright, open two story floor plan that is great for family life, while also being unique and dramatic. The Captiva is a 4 BR/3 BA/Den/Loft/3 Car Garage home, with a bonus room plan at 3923 SF.

The minute you walk in you get a feeling of bright spaciousness and unique design. In front of you is the Living room's 20 FT ceiling and picture windows that extend to a second story spindled staircase, beyond which you get views of the huge Family room and out the 12 FT pocket sliders to the pool area.

Many times, stairs are hidden in a hall, or are right on top of you when you enter the home. We wanted to do something different. Putting an open, spindled staircase between the living room and family room adds sizzle and warmth to both rooms and makes for a very spacious and open feeling.

Off the living room is the dining room which is framed by two large full columns and an archway. We always like to make the main living areas of the home, the Family room, Kitchen and Master suite spacious and elegant. The family room is large with a 12' 8" coffered ceiling and a 12 FT triple pocket slider. The Kitchen is huge with two big islands, staggered cabinets, and great work spaces. There is a separate built-in desk area, and two very large walk-in pantries for tons of storage. One of the pantries was designed to easily convert to a double sided Butler's Pantry that opens to the Dining room. The Breakfast nook is big with both a picture window and a 6 FT slider that opens to a 377 SF covered Lanai. As we do with all of our homes, the Kitchen and Family room, ceilings (and FR coffer) are high, but all at different levels for a feeling of openness and separation.

The Master Suite is huge, with the MBR as big as the Family room with a picture window and 12 FT triple slider. The Master was also designed to accommodate an optional fireplace. The Master Bath is based on the award winning Antigua master bath. It is big and bright with the option of looking out from the whole bath, the tub, and the shower into a private garden solarium.

As is also customary, the Den is private and secluded with its own alcove entry.

The upstairs has three bedrooms, a split, double sink bath, and an extra large walk-in storage room that was designed to be easily converted to either a second upstairs utility room or second upstairs full bath. We also purposely designed a loft area standard that is big enough for a study area and play/TV area. The loft also overlooks the two story living room.

If you want an extra room besides the Loft, the Captiva Series also comes with a bonus room plan. The Bonus Room is big at 22 x 27 and includes a bridge walkway from the loft.
